Common questions
Where does the UV data come from?
On iOS, from Apple WeatherKit (the same data your Weather app uses). On Android, from Open-Meteo. Both use standard meteorological models, updated hourly.
Do I need an account?
Nope. UV Index works right out of the box. No sign-in, no email, no cloud stuff.
Why does it need my location?
To fetch UV data for where you actually are. Your location is used only for weather lookup and never leaves your phone.
Is this medical advice?
No, this is just a tracking app. The timers use standard skin-type guidelines but everyone's skin is different — if you have questions about sun safety, ask a doctor or parent.
iOS or Android?
iOS is out now. Android is being built and coming soon.
How much does it cost?
One-time purchase on iOS — no subscription, no ads. Android version will be free.
UV Index is a fun way to keep track of the sun. It is not medical advice — the timers are based on general guidelines and are meant as a helpful guide, not a strict rule. If you are unsure about sun safety, talk to a parent or doctor.
